why we built this ✎
TabeeMap was born in Vancouver — a city surrounded by mountains and ocean, where somehow, finding the right people to explore it with can be the hardest part.
We’d discover a great spot — a new trail, a hidden café, a place someone posted about — and the first thought was always “who’s down?” But friends were busy. Schedules never lined up. The communities we tried didn’t quite fit. The apps we tried felt like work.
The friendships that actually stuck didn’t start with introductions. They started by showing up at the same place, again and again. A Sunday hiking group. A neighborhood bar. A beach someone mentioned. No pressure, no pitch — just people who kept choosing the same places.
